We are seeking a motivated and talented Junior Systems Administrator to join our growing IT department.

Job Summary:

The Junior Systems Administrator will provide essential technical support to our internal teams. This role will involve a variety of tasks, including troubleshooting hardware and software issues, assisting with server maintenance, and participating in IT projects. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual with a strong interest in technology and a passion for problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities:

  • IT Support & Maintenance:
    • Provide first-line technical support to employees, resolving hardware and software issues such as computer malfunctions, printer problems, and connectivity issues.
    • Assist with server maintenance tasks, including monitoring performance and conducting routine checks.
    • Manage and maintain company devices, including computers, laptops, tablets, and mobile phones.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve network connectivity issues.
    • Install, configure, and maintain software applications.
    • Assist with the collection and repair of malfunctioning electronics.
  • Project Support & Collaboration:
    • Assist with IT-related projects, including system upgrades, implementations, and data migrations.
    • Gather and analyze data to support IT initiatives and decision-making.
    • Collaborate effectively with other IT team members and cross-functional departments.
  • Knowledge Sharing & Training:
    • Create and maintain internal documentation, including help articles, FAQs, and training materials.
    • Conduct or assist with training sessions to educate employees on IT systems and best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Essential Skills:
    • Strong interest in technology and a passion for problem-solving.
    • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
    • Proficiency in basic JavaScript and the ability to read and write code.
    • General knowledge of computer hardware and software.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Preferred Skills (Optional):
    • Background in network administration or systems engineering.
    • Experience with server administration (e.g., Windows Server).
    • Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
    • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell).
    • College degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Physical Demands and Work Environment.

  • Physical Demands:
    • Frequent sitting, standing, and reaching.
    • Occasional lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds.
    • Repetitive use of hands and fingers for typing and using computer peripherals.
  • Work Environment:
    • Primarily an office environment.
    • Occasional exposure to moderate noise levels.
    • May require occasional travel within the Memphis metro area.
